Our Mission
Love God. Love People. Make Disciples.
It sounds simple when you read it, but we believe that by living out these three objectives, we become the followers of Christ that we are commanded to be. If we are true to this statement, then as a church, we know we will be able to have a maximum impact in our community. If the love of God will consume us, then a love for people will flow out of us, which will illuminate in us a light that allows Jesus to be seen and followed by others.
Our History
It was a cold December day in 1949 when 21 friends and neighbors gathered together to begin to pray about a church that might be planted in Brevard. A year later, their prayers and vision came to life as they began to meet in a temporary shelter. Almost two years later, the cornerstone was put into place and the work of Calvary Baptist Church began.
Over time, Calvary grew to be an anchor in the community, reaching hundreds in the Brevard area. The church experienced God's movement in tremendous ways.
With so much history, it would be easy to remain content with what God has already accomplished. However, at Calvary, we realize that vision is not something that gets lost in the past, but rather something that drives us into the future.
We are now entering a time of transition, where we are looking forward to what God is doing in our church and community. We want you to be a part of what God is getting ready to do. We really believe that the best days of our church lie before us, and THE BEST IS YET TO COME!
