Our Pastor
Dr. Andrew White joined Calvary Baptist Church Brevard as its pastor in August 2023.
Andrew grew up as the child of a pastor and missionary, preparing him for his calling in his adult life. He lived in Belize, Florida and Mississippi during his childhood.
Andrew earned two master’s degrees from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary in Lynchburg, Virginia. He earned his first in theological studies, before completing a Master of Divinity in Missional Studies. He then attended Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, North Carolina, earning a Doctor of Ministry there.
While in seminary, he served as an associate pastor at churches in Virginia and North Carolina, and after completing seminary, he helped plant and pastor a church in the Outer Banks.
Andrew and his wife Carmen have been married for 13 years and have two sons–Wesley James and Noah Jude.
Andrew is a Jesus-follower, husband, father, reader, writer, traveler, baseball and soccer fan, dog owner, taco enthusiast and committed coffee snob.
He enjoys having in-depth, even challenging, conversations, as he is deeply passionate about seeking healing for the perception of church in today’s society and challenging those around him to stretch and grow.
Andrew connects well with people at
different stages of life. His involvement runs the scope of working with children and youth groups to developing adult discipleship groups.
He is intentional in getting to know the church’s surrounding community, and he believes in making church a vibrant part of the community through home groups and other missional opportunities.
